Kathy Murillo has over 25 years of experience practicing Occupational Therapy (OT), She has worked in a variety of settings, including community based TBI (traumatic brain injury), community hospitals, acute inpatient rehab. facilities, and years of home health. Kathy has come to believe that the underlying goal of OT is to view her patients as ' whole beings' and assist them in functioning as safely, independently, and joyfully throughout their day as possible, whether it be in the areas of their work, play, or leisure.
Being both an "old timer" OT and a mother of a son with autism, I have a unique understanding and true belief that we don't need to be defined by our diagnoses.

I knew from the first John Barnes MFR class I took that this would be my work passion. Not only did I finally get relief from my 1 1/2 year nagging hip pain (with all tests coming back negative), but also it incorporated my belief in the 'whole person' both physical and emotional. I also love the fact that MFR can help us throughout our life spectrum; from newborn to 100+ years old.
No one says "I want to wake up tomorrow and be in pain and take lots of pills", and therefore it's my personal and professional goal (and the overall goal of MFR) to "restore the individual's freedom so they may return to a pain free, active lifestyle". I look forward to helping you achieve this.
Patient Perspective"I have tried all treatments for my back, knees and severe TBI. I thank God who sent me Kathy and her MFR therapy. This is the first time in 14 years that I want to live because she has given me belief in body and the mind"(Eve)
